Well, I picked up the new Fajen stocked 10/22. It has a 21" aluminum tension sleeve barrel built by a gunsmith in Virginia. It shoots quite well according to groups from the previous owner.

I purchased it without googling one fact......the barrel was threaded 1/2-36 for use with a 9mm gemtech suppressor. It is not 1/2-28 like I had assumed (and hoped).

So, now I'm interested in pursuing another barrel. I polished the receiver, so i'm thinking a stainless barrel, or possibly carbon fiber.

Suggestions? Brands? I'd like to stay "short" on the length, under 21" I think, and lightweight is key. But of course, $$ plays the biggest factor.

Thanks

I'd like to add a Kidd trigger but in the meantime I'm going to try out Rugers new BX trigger, I've ready it's pretty decent.

They had 2 at cabelas in Greenville. On sale if i remember priced around 79$. They had a block in the packaging which allowed you to drop the hammer and dry fire. One did not operate in the package i'm guessing because it had been monkey pawed by mouth breathers thousands of times. The other i monkey pawed a few times  . Any who not really that impressed with the pull weight. The break was nice and crisp. I know it was in packaging and probably feels a lot better mounted on a rifle. Would be interested in the reset too.

Well, I'm stuck. Can't decide what to do. I have plenty of "bench" rifles, and think I want this one to be a lightweight field/hunting gun. So I'm thinking lightweight and iron sights would be fun to walk the woods with. Or would a small scope base and a Trijicon RMR or similar be better? I just can't decide....
