    The best would be a Ruger SR1911, which are perfect right out of the box. Any "better" trigger would be dangerous. About 800 bucks.

    Starline brass, 230 Gr FMJ w/ 6 Grains Unique, pushes the bullet out about 820fps. With cast bullets you should use 5.6 grs Unique, pushing the bullet at 850fps. Six grains Unique with a cast bullet pushes the bullet too fast and slams the slide back too hard and can be damaging to the gun.

    Ruger 1911 owners here?

    I have four SR1911 pistols, a 5", a CMD and a Light Weight CMD in 45 ACP, and a 5" in 10MM. All shot flawlessly out of the box. My daily carry is the LW CMD. I doesn't tug at my Wranglers.
