Keep the 21 inch barrel. It never hurts to have options. That being said, I'll go against the grain and say 24" is optimal, because you know thats what I use and all.

Those 4 inch rectangular plates with pistol will make me say ugly words. Especially when somebody decides they should be shot at 20-25 yards.

Well I can assure you I've never met a prop anywhere that gave someone 5-8" an advantage. LOL
