What 22LR Pistol do you plink with?

Have quite a group of .22’s of all types but my favorite is in of my Bullseye pistols. Kart conversion on a lower built by K.C Crawford.

    VPN's

Don’t post much but for the past four years I have used the Proton VPN and also Proton Mail. They are out of Switzerland and the most secure I have found. Give them a try and you will not be disappointed.

Great recap of Springfield Armory and their contributions to our Country.

    Lets see some nice Commanders.

I have a Combat Commander that is set up like that with two slides. It was built in mid 1973 by Austin Behlert. Looks more like his work than Armand’s. Also have a couple of guns Armand did for me that both have his stippling on the slide top and his version of a squared trigger guard. The name...

What is your idea of high Quality 1911?

With proper lubrication good magazines and ammo any of them.

    Lets see some nice Commanders.

A bit late to the show. Most of my 1911’s are full size or competition pistols but I still have three Commander size. A Colt Combat Commander from 1973 is the early cut away inside slide one that was originally Satin Nickel and now finished in Electroless Nickel by Ron Mahovsky that has been...

    Winchester Ammo(WWB)

Could be that Bullseye leads all other powders in the Bullseye (Precision Pistol) competition because they shoot better scores with it. Go to Bullseye-L forum and search for powders and loads used by top shooters. For you shooters who like soft practice loads try some of the Short Line loads.

    Winchester Ammo(WWB)

Not sure why so many people complain about Winchester White Box. Over the past 20 years I have used, at a minimum 100,000 rounds of WWB. About ten years ago Winchester moved their Ammo Plant to about thirty five miles from my farm in Mississippi so a lot of the White Box came from there. The...

    Security Cabinet recommendations

Take a look at the offerings from Tractor Supply. The one you listed from WalMart is about one half that price at Tractor Supply. In November of each year they have a special buy of the safe pictured for $300.00. Not the most secure but a great storage lockup.

    Bad experiences with the 1911

Be a bit more specific: what guns and what problems for a certain gun.

Nervous to Fit an XACT fit Kart Barrel...

Just use the Sharpie on the rear of the hood. Always wipe it off after checking and reapply sparingly. The Sharpie ink thickness can build up quickly. When filing the pads you will think that it is not allowing the radial lugs to engage quickly enough and take an extra pass or so with the file...

Nervous to Fit an XACT fit Kart Barrel...

You seem to have it. You are not filing the barrel lugs. Go REALLY slow on the pads Does the kit still come with the fitting bushing? Barrel bushing with a scalloped flange?

Nervous to Fit an XACT fit Kart Barrel...

Just follow the instructions with the Kart Fitting Kit. Go slow and a blue Sharpie is your friend. With Fred’s instructions the Apex jig is redundant.

    Red Dot sight for 1911

That would be one of my Pin Guns with the two complete slide assemblies. My carry gun always has iron sights and never have I tried Optic Carry. Background and speed of acquisition of target and split times data all relate to Pin Shooting competition so not sure how it corresponds to use from a...
