Thinking about purchasing a Springfield Range Master 1911. Will probably have to sell a couple of mine to do so but I feel like I have to have one, a 1911 that is. Any comments on this particular one? I like Springfields and they have some good reviews on this model.

Thinking about going to the steel challenge at USSA on Sept. 2nd. Haven't done anything like this but it sounds fun. Anybody else going out there?

So what makes the 1911 such a great gun to have? I've yet to shoot one but I'm curious, I see a lot of comments about them. Is one manufacture better than the other? I presently have a Glock 19, Springfield XD 40, Bersa .380 and a Kel-Tec P11. I think I favor the Springfield right now.
