Hey Rawhide, the CMMG mags have 2 little tabs on theback of the mags that are for fitment of the mags. 1 swipe of the file on each of them and the mags fit perfect for me.

Also, if you get a YUGO make sure it has a good barrel, gas block and gas tube. ALOT of the early Yugos have extremely pitted barrels gas blocks and gas tubes.

What kind of barrel profile/length and carrier are you using those in? I've been thinking of trying a different buffer.

They have no deflector or fwd assist in a flat top configuration.

You can get a 9mm upper aNd have the gas tube hole drilled, that saves a couple ounces. That has the slick side, no fwd assist or deflector. That with a Pencil barrel is very light. Mine weighs right at 5lbs w/out mag/ammo.

We r talking about the OP's requirements. 16" lightweight rifle, no SBR, that would be cheating. U guys are stuck on 3 gun! LOL!

It slows down the recoil going to the buffer before it gets to that point. Basically prevents your buffer from bounce back, IN MY CASE. Remember, we r talking about lightweight guns, not 3 gun rigs.

I usually shoot the carbine match at Oil Cap. That being said, i usually shoot my AK's. Don't usually have xtra time to shoot much more than that, i actually have to work. When are the USSA matches (hours,days)and what type are they? Rifle? Rifle/pistol? How much?

I would suggest using a m16 carrier on the lightweight build. It only adds an ounce or 2 and it really tamed the felt recoil and "jumping around" stuff. My kid shoots my lightweight and it looks like he's shooting a 10/22! I would also suggest a slickside A1 upper. I personally never needed a...
