    What 1911 brands to avoid?

Well….everyone has an opinion. I own a range of 1911’s from very affordable to fairly expensive - Tisas to Wilson Combat and a couple of Kimbers. All have been exceptional in terms of accuracy and reliability. Rock Island Armory and Tisas are a good place to start if your budget dictates left...

Never Shoot To Kill In A Self Defense Situation?

Responding to all and no one in particular for the sake of argument. Most of you will be offended anyhow. With the exception of Rick O’Shay and most currently working Law Enforcement: Stick to posting pictures of 1911’s. Please. And never, ever go out in public. Become a hermit in the truest...

Never Shoot To Kill In A Self Defense Situation?

    A) The article is all about the legal aspects surrounding the aftermath of a defensive shooting and has very little to do with ‘how’ to stop a threat. B) Get some legitimate defensive handgun training that includes the general legal aspects of a defensive shooting. No legit instructor will tell...

Why is there so few here?

I don’t know why anyone would find Canadians and 1911’s strange. Someone respond as to why there is a pretty strong connection between the two so that these folks can be enlightened. There are a couple of connections the 1911 historian should know. I’m not gonna give it away! Quiz for the...

    SDS Imports 1911 A1 Tanker

Two thoughts about this 1911: (1) Turkey makes incredibly accurate and reliable firearms. (2) Myth Buster: Modern (post early ‘80’s) 1911’s won’t reliably feed/etc HP ammo. That’s a load of horse hockey. And they don’t have to be $2k guns, either.
