    Colt Wiley Capp Commander

I have a Wiley Clapp Lightweight Commander. Like it a lot, only thing it really needs is a trigger job, It is shootable as is, I haven't done the trigger job, left it alone. I would like a gold bead instead of brass. Good pistol.

    Single vs ambi

I'm a righty so no need for ambi. In addition the ambis all hit the my hand when I grip the pistol. I do have one left and it has small Colt tear drop paddles, it even hits my hand, if I didn't have other guns I'd remove it. Glad I'm not a lefty.

Less than $1000 out of the box with best trigger

I have 8 1911 style guns, none had a good enough trigger right out of the box. Even the DW trigger pull was too heavy altho a good trigger, same goes for my Gold Cup. Had to boost a couple and replace the sear spring with a Colt spring. I have tried new guns with good triggers but never bought one.

    loose slide to frame fit

Okay, how much better does it shoot now that it's tightened up and how is reliability. Every thing's better I hope.

    Point of impact

Ruger wouldn't replace the sights on my CMD, said they don't care where it shoots as long as it groups, I filed it down.

    Dan Wesson PM-C .45 - Fail after 6 rounds

I examined mine every time I cleaned it but it broke anyway and locked up the gun. Don't need it, why take the chance. I wouldn't run them in a carry gun.

    Dan Wesson PM-C .45 - Fail after 6 rounds

Get rid of the buffer, don't need it. They will lock up the gun when they break. Might cause the slide not to lock back and ejection problems.

    Dan Wesson PM-C .45 - Fail after 6 rounds

I too have a Ruger CMD SS, works like a champ, I do keep it lubed tho. I use Tetra Grease on the rails. One part need to be a different hardness, if the slide and frame are identical material of the same hardness they are likely to gall. Keep them well lubed no matter what. Except Glock of...

    Dan Wesson PM-C .45 - Fail after 6 rounds

I bought a 9MM Valkyrie Commander last year. It's been 100% so far. But it ain't SS against SS, has an aluminum frame. The first thing with a new pistol is to clean it and run it wet.

    What are you lusting after?

    S&W model 18, I just can't make myself pay 800.00 for one.

    So....

I think so, still above ground, nearly 74 years old.

    What did you shoot today?

Ruger Deluxe 10/22 and a DW Valkyrie Commander. Both work very well. 10/22 will require a trigger job tho.

    wheeler trigger pull scale accuracy

I have one, it's accurate enough for a 20.00 scale. I'm not surprised it's a couple ounces off.

    Ruger 1911 owners here?

I own a CMD, I really like it after a rough start. 1 st was replaced on warranty, replacement had to go back on warranty. I am glad I stuck with it cause it's a real shooter. I own others, Colts, Kimber, DW, Citadel, SA. Love them all. You can't beat a 1911 gun or a S&W revolver. I really like...

    CMP 1911 Sales

They are really dragging it out. I still don't know if I'm on the list or not. We did all the work for them, all they gotta do is enter info since, for some reason, they gotta have 2 back ground checks. No incentive to be efficient.

    Carry ammunition.....45ACP....

I don't think it matters, shot placement is more important..

    RMR on your carry gun

I have sent a lot of rounds down range at bulls eyes with red dot sights with .45 and .22. quite a few with a red dot on a 10/22. I love the red dot sight but I would not put one on a carry gun. I have a prism scope on an AR15, it has a red or green dot with power, black without power so it's...

    RMR on your carry gun

Not too many S/D situations happening at 25 yards. Dead battery, no dot was the point I was going to make. Precision pistol it shot at 50 yards, all with open sights til recent times.
