Would you rather have a 1911 in 9mm or .45 Pros and Con?

There is no one answer fits all here. I would chose .45 ACP just because I like .45 and I am able to reload. Otherwise I would chose 9x19 parabellum.

    Grow your own?

That is a good question. There are at least two basic varieties. The african forms apparently have a lot more cyanide compounds in them and require a lot more processing. I am hope that cyanide presence will help keep the critters off of them. People talk of sweet form of it. Can be also...

RECALL Notice : for Tisas 1911's

Today many 1911s have much lighter pulls than was the case 40 years ago. So the margin for an error at the factor is much less. I would first see if I had a problem prior to sending the gun in for service.

    Gunpowder prices are rising

I looked up imports and what I saw was nitrocellulose coming from other countries. But as you say the other non-chinese sources might not be enough. The powder plant that I spent some time at had many years ago shut down the areas that made nitrocellulose and this entire army ammunition plant...

Glock Switch Hickok45 He goes glock full auto and controls it well

Hickok has nifty friends that seem to be able to provide him with all sorts of things commoners like I can not have. I am not sure how useful a full auto glock would be for self defense assuming that they were ever to become legal.

In the USA due to unprecedented demand the gun industry is rapidly growing and hodgdon can charge what it wants to. It is cheaper to shoot the more generic rounds such as 22 LR, 9x19, and 5.56 than it is to load them yourself when you consider also the cost of your time. Center fire hunting...
