Back in my Kimber days I experienced exterior barrel rust. I assumed they were stainless. Wrong. They were in the white, no protection at all. I'll never understand why. Luckily Robar was local, they charged $30 to do their wonderful Np3 on a barrel. Problem solved.

You can spend $2000 customizing a Filipino pistol and you still have a Filipino pistol. Dressed up, sure.

Plus often it costs you more once you start customizing a cheap gun than if you just bought a mid-level to begin with. Nobody right now can beat Dan Wesson for the best gun at it's price point.
