    Never had a imported 1911. My experience with Springfield and Kimber has been good, but for over 20 years I have carried a Colt Officers ACP. Hands down, my favorite. Buy quality and never look back. Amen.

    My experience is pretty much focused on Colt. I have, over the years, owned a couple of Kimber 1911's, but sold them. My EDC for many years has been a Colt LW Officer's Model, and I own a few Gov't models and two LW Commanders. Never unhappy with any of them. Stick with Colt...

    Especially if the purpose of a particular pistol is a fighting tool, best to trust any reliability issues to a professional gunsmith, then take the piece out and function test it yourself before it is put back into service. DVC

    You get what you pay for. Colt is still Made In USA, reasonably priced. Great parts availability, and, with regular basic maintenance, it goes bang every time the trigger is pressed... DVC
