    Heritage Roscoe 3" Wood.

I have a Heritage Rough Rider 22LR/22Magnum and it is excellent. Very well made revolvers. This is the first time I've saw this Roscoe. If you notice, just about all revolvers made by Taurus, who also owns Heritage Firearms, are patterned after Smith & Wesson revolvers. Back in 1970, Bangor...

BEST CHOICE...TISAS or ROCK ISLAND 1911A1 MIL SPEC.

I have a TISAS 1911A1 SERVICE model, and it hasn't failed me from straight out of the box, no break in, shooting FMJ or HP ammo. I've shot different factory loads and my own reloads without any failures. They are made extremely well compared to some other higher priced 1911's I've looked at...

    Getting older ain't fun

Here comes more company for you. I just turned 67 last month. Some people say, "You're as old as you feel". I disagree because I'm not near 100 yet. My backbone wore out early and I had to retire when I was 51. I had six surgeries in eleven months. The most intrusive were a 3-Level fusion on...

Anyone Actually Clean Their Guns with WD-40?

Back in the early 60's we used Hoppes #9 to clean the barrels and 3-in-1 Machine Oil to lubricate our guns. When WD-40 hit the market we switched to it. We never had any problems from using it. We just had to wipe our guns down occasionally during out of hunting season storage time due to it...

    DRONES.

When the government tells us that it's nothing to worry about, well, that should be self explanatory by now. I doubt that Iran would be stupid enough to sail an Iranian marked vessel into our territory. Thanks to the Biden administration freeing up Iran's oil sanctions, they now have plenty of...

    Help with discoloration

You're very welcome. Yeah, Kydex holsters are made for guns that you don't care about what happens to the finish.

    Help with discoloration

I can't tell from the picture what the white looking stuff is. Is it the finish flaking off, I can't tell? I have had very good results using Case Paste for cleaning and polishing pretty much any metal. I polish all of the feed ramps on my pistols with it and have great results.

Welcome from North Alabama friend. Looks like you have a nice collection going there.

    Wilson Combat Ammo Yikes!

Looks like it wasn't crimped at all or very little at the most. I've loaded many 45 ACP's with 185 grain Hornady XTP bullets and I've never had any problems like this or anything else. I only use LEE dies and always use their factory crimp die on everything I reload and have never had a pushback...

    Charles Daly 1911s

I've never owned or fired a Charles Daly 1911. All the information I could find is they are made in Italy now by Chiappa.

It's Been A Tough Few Weeks For Me Fellas

I truly feel for you as I have been there. You've made it past the hardest part in my opinion, getting willing to give him to God. We as humans tend to be selfish when this time comes around. My dad had an aneurism in his abdomen and only lasted 8 days in the ICU. I wasn't with him when he died...

Would you rather have a 1911 in 9mm or .45 Pros and Con?

I've never fired a 9mm 1911 so I can't throw off on it, and I would definitely say the recoil would be significantly less than the 45acp. Still, as stated in a post I read above, when I hear or say 1911, I automatically think 45acp. I guess growing up watching combat and all the other war shows...

Here is something else I just thought about. Check to see if the heavier recoil spring is tuned to the proper length. This video shows how:

Would you rather have a 1911 in 9mm or .45 Pros and Con?

I don't know but it seems like a stronger recoil spring could possibly not let the slide come back all the way not letting it strip the next round correctly. How does it do with 7 round mags? Have you tried using a standard weight recoil spring with the 8 round mags? I always slap the full mag...

Would you rather have a 1911 in 9mm or .45 Pros and Con?

I bought an OEM 8-round flush fit magazine for my Tisas Service Model 45 ACP and it functions flawlessly. I bought it at CDNN Sports for $14.99. They still have them in stock. Just type 310 in the search bar and go straight to it. I really like the flush fit, it just looks better than the bumper...

Would you rather have a 1911 in 9mm or .45 Pros and Con?

As far as defining a 1911 pistol, it looks like it's different strokes for different folks on this topic. As for me personally, a true 1911 is chambered in 45 ACP. Maybe the 9mm copies should be called 1911M's. I view this like the naming of all the different AK47's on the market today. A true...

    What 1911 brands to avoid?

I bought a new Taurus G3 and a new Taurus TH9 a few years back and both came from Bainbridge, Georgia. I've shot both of them a good bit and both are super reliable and accurate. Neither one has had any type of malfunction with any kind of ammo I've fed them. Reliability and accuracy are the two...

    What 1911 brands to avoid?

Yes you did. Taurus relocated from Florida to Bainbridge, Georgia.
