    My 7.62 X 39 rifles : (another ) accuracy comparison.

The bolt problems is a design issue in that it was made for a smaller cartridge head surface. A lot of material gets cut away. It seems that some say their bolts are better relieved or something or other. The major reason for having an AR upper in 7.62x39 is that I have bit of it purchased...

    My 7.62 X 39 rifles : (another ) accuracy comparison.

There has been a lot of discussion of this. Many photographs of fail 7.62x39 bolts. A military should be replace like 7-10K. russian bolts break more often. It is enough that I will go to 300 blackout. compare two bolts. Extractors are prone to break and lugs are said to shear more...

    My 7.62 X 39 rifles : (another ) accuracy comparison.

I have decided to stay away for the AR15 in 7,62x39 since the bolt is not really up to dealing with that round. the AR bolts tend to break extractors and lugs it is said with that chambering. The CMMG gun is different but it is an AR10 bolt.

CIA Sought to Change COVID-19 Origin Analysis.

The source is someone called whistle blower in front of a house committee; there can be criminal penalties for lying. So that is what there is. Is it possible yes. But it would be better to know a lot more about 'whistle' blower for sure...

OK...you're carrying and there's an active shooter,

i just quoted what went on in the court and I do not know exactly what G. Floyd died of and I suspect neither did the medical examiner. I still think there was doubt as to the actual cause of death. One factor for doubt has to do with of the drugs recovered from Floyd's remains when tested by...

OK...you're carrying and there's an active shooter,

In most locales a private school can be guarded, especially a church school with the cooperation of the staff that run it.

OK...you're carrying and there's an active shooter,

I do not remember what caused of death the legal system decided on. But if you are full drugs with heart disease and have three people siting on you with a forth with knee on your neck, hey just what could go wrong with that. Testimony at the trial CNN —...

OK...you're carrying and there's an active shooter,

This is a bunny trail and would need another thread that likely has been already discussed. George Floyd was as high as a kite and was incapable of responding as ordered to. When officers approached him relative to passing a counterfeit $20, he swallowed his stash and within minutes was...

Yes it makes real good sense. Below are some of the powders listed by Hodgdon for reloading 125 grain bullets and they are mostly in rifles considered faster powders. For 16 inch barrel lil' seems to be give highest velocities and lower pressure than for 296-H110 powder. Lil’ Gun is an...

Did some 300 AAC Blackout Shooting Today

I have steel case russian loaded ammo with 154 soft points. Normally the load is 123-5 grains. I was thinking more like 200 grains for x39.

I wonder if somewhat heavier bullets could be used in the 7.62x39. The limiting spec might be rifling twist that I see for a 7.5 inch barrel gun is 1 in 10 ratio. The case volume is greater so maybe the 300 blackout is better for suppressor use since it should more efficiently burn a smaller...

True for handguns, but not true without adding that qualification. It seems for handguns to do well for .357 and .44 magnum with full loads. People do tend to load the 300 blackout like it is a pistol cartridge. I use 296 and H-110 for 30 US carbine and will likely use it for 300 blackout...

Did some 300 AAC Blackout Shooting Today

H-110 is not a slow burning powder, but of course it is slower than some. It was the idea powder for the M1 carbine. On the hodgdon burn rate chart is 63 out of 172 powders with 172 being the lowest. I would put it on fast side of a medium burn rate. Medium burn rate powders below Below...

Interesting, but too much for me. I have other guns that put the safety there. Quick mag changes are not so important to me unless we get restricted to 5 rounds like in canada.

On guns that come with 30 round magazines, quick operation of the charging handle seems not so critical to me. The scope issue I certainly can see that. Most of mine have red dots that mount far forward.
