I've never replaced sights before. This will likely be a learning curve.

First, I bought 4 of these Mepro Tritium front sights which claim to be compatible with Armscor Rock Island TAC 1911 .45ACP. Figured I'd try them on the three 45 Standards I bought.

I then ordered 2 sets of Truglo Tritium sight sets for 5" government 9mm 1911s. I'll try them on a couple and see how close they are before ordering more.

Then of course, I had to order a new sight pusher because, well, mine got toasty…

I'll try the front sights first. If those work out, I'll move on to the sets for the 9mm.

i recall reading that sights are made to enter the dovetail from either the left or right side..in other words, they're directional. Don't remember which way they're supposed to be removed & installed, but it is one way...

In my experience, they've always gone out to the left and gone in to the right. Most sights are directional in this manner. If you get instructions with your new sights, read the directions first!

I think you will like the true glo's.
I put them on all of my weapons.
I prefer a contrasting center bead, like an orange in between to greens.
The fun part is getting them on your slide. It's why I pay to have someone else do it.
Enjoy your new sights.
