    Ejector Tuning

Ha! completely missed the 45 ejector, I was so busy concentrating on the extractor. Nice catch! :)

    Ejector Tuning

Judging from the pics provided, the extractor is too long. That case should be on the breach face, held captive by the extractor, and the 'nose' of the extractor should not touch the case as you stated. But it looks like the nose of the extractor would indeed touch if the case were properly...

    Gunsmiths

This was pretty common, back when pistolsmiths/gunsmiths were more craftsmen than machinists. I learned how to do it because I didn't have a mill early on. But I must admit that using a mill and a dovetail cutter is much faster. But the downside is it's much easier and faster to screw up too. :)

Sights for those of us getting older.

I carry this as well as a 2011 (currently in parts, being worked on) that have RMRs on them. I started shooting RDSs in USPSA open class when they first came out (remember those 40mm soda cans we put on top of our race guns?) and have been comfortable with them for a long time. Now I'm...

A second vote for the RMR. Dependable, and watching your target while superimposing a red dot on it is a cinch compared to trying to focus on a front sight. Just my opinion though. :)

    RMR on your carry gun

    RMR on your carry gun

The rating on a RMR's battery is approx. 17000 hours, or almost 2 years (assuming quality batteries are used). I change out the batteries on my RMRs every June as they are cheap, and that way I always have a red dot when I need it. I shot open class pistols with red dots for almost 20 years and...

    RMR on your carry gun

Add that to the fact that many police and military units use the RMR because of it's reliability means I may have a better chance of surviving a gunfight with it rather than without it. :)

Are they both offering builds with RMRs now?

    RMR on your carry gun

I started shooting red dot sights as they were becoming popular in USPSA open class. To me they are just a natural part of the pistol now. Here's my 2011 in full on 10mm 'Blaster' config: And here it is in carry mode with either a 40 S&W or 10mm barrel: And this is my Kimber 45 right after...

    Hello From SE AZ

Just 'discovered' this site, and recognize a few names from another forum I frequent. I'm down in sunny SE AZ, not too far from Tombstone. I can actually see a mountain range in Mexico from my house. :) Anyway, for those who don't know me I'm a former Marine (scout/observ) and now a recently...
