I have trimmed the ends on spur hammers and just “break” the edges of the grip safety. Just makes it a bit more comfortable.

I have a mix of 10, 20, and 30 round mags. No legal restrictions. Just easier sometimes.

Hilton Yam of 10-8 fame gives very good feedback on the Smith E series and it’s beefy external extractor. With the E series having no FPS and an endorsement from Hilton I would call the Smith good to go.

It is so hard to judge how good a gun is just from watching one example on the range. Without knowing how the gun was maintained or the mags/ammo it can really be a challenge. On my one example I thought the recoil spring was crap and replaced with a Wolff spring. But then it was not...
