I've never had a problem with a Kimber, but if price is no object when it's time to add to the collection, I'd send my money to Bill Wilson.

I'll take one of each, please. 9mm is less pricey than 45, so it sees more range time. But 45ACP is, as noted above, what God carries.

Those who have experienced a 9mm 1911 will be likely to be big fans on range days when the extra rounds and reduced recoil allow for more time making holes downrange, and exhibiting a big grin. STI's original single-stack 5.0 Tactical is a hoot, IMO.

Snap caps and lots of dry firing will improve the trigger, IMO.

^ + 1 for what Old Bill said. Live with it a while before you have a smith muck with it. You might be surprised and be happy with it. Stranger things have happened. Do what makes You happy.

I'd opt for a Glock 21.

I am most impressed by Wilson 47D 8-round mags and Chip McCormick's Shooting Star mags.
