KimPro mags for me. I have two dozen or so that I've used for over ten years. I've shot thousands of rounds through several different brands of 1911's and never had a failure.. Midway has them for $21 each.

Lots of experience and advice here, but as you can see, it's all just a shot in the dark. My experience is pretty old and may not be of value. If I were buying my first 1911 today, I would buy a Springfield Armory loaded or Operator.
