Well I found the clip on my floor so that answers my questions.

I don't suppose you have a picture of this clip? I couldn't find a 3000 schematic but the 3500 doesn't show a clip.

There is a retaining clip that holds the pin in? I never saw this when I took the pin out? I just tapped it with a punch and it came out. Now I'm really concerned. Is it just a c clip type available at hardware stores? And also you mean the end without the groove goes in first if you are...

I took apart my stoeger to open up the loading port. When I went to put the shell catch/ bolt release assembly back in I dropped the retaining pin and lost which way it is oriented. One end has a small groove cut into it so I'm sure there is a right and wrong way it has to go in. Anybody know?
