    Favorite Gun Moments from Hollywood

Haw! "Give me your keys and other metallic objects" that is indeed a great gun moment. It would almost be woth going to jail to be able to flip your coat open and see the look on the guards face... Of course with some o' the people they have on duty they just might wave you through. JB

    Favorite Gun Moments from Hollywood

Hey, Great! thanks for reminding me of the movie 'Collateral'-----I've only seen it once, at the movie theater when it first came out. I love movies---but I so rarely see one that deeply satisfies me---one where I walk out of the theater feeling, 'Wow, now THAT is what movie making is all...

    The Guns of Hollywood

I believe you are right. And none of the tanks lookes remotely like US or German tanks of WW2 vintage. Like doing a movie about WW2 bomber guys and using boeing 707's painted green for B-17's.

    The Guns of Hollywood

OK---- I remembered another favorite western (or east-meets-western) from my teenage days--called 'The Red Sun'. Ursula Andress (yes) had been captured by injuns (if I remember right) and staked out with green rawhide to die in the sun----around her neck were rawhide strips about like...

son-of-a-gun! they even have a scene from 'Valdez'--- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fCKLiumEPHg I guess this is a bit Hollywood even with a Sharps '74 shooting from a rest---since they are moving targets.

    Favorite Gun Moments from Hollywood

Mr. 'Frost' has some moments we are eager to hear about so the ball is now rolling: I remember seeing a film 'Valdez is Coming' when I was a teenager and falling in love with Sharps rifles because of the long shots he was taking with one----- ooh--ooh! Hey, I just remembered---speaking of...

    The Guns of Hollywood

heh! I remember going to see the movie 'Patton' when it came out----they used completely non-vintage tanks in the big battle with Rommel's forces---almost ruined the movie for me. My friends couldn't understand why I was so disillusioned. ha! I've learned to appreciate the movie for its other...

    The Pacific

Thanks for the heads-up on this---I didn't know it was coming out. My dad (who died in February) was a pacific vet. With the 1st Cavalry division in the Philippines, 2 years combat. He also went in with the first wave of occupation troops---onto the Japanese mainland. Sure wish he could have...

    The Guns of Hollywood

Can we have a "good" guns-in-movies side-thread? 'Raiders of the lost Ark' has several of my favorite gun moments. The scene where he is packing his suitcase and says something like "don't worry, I'm always careful" and then you see a beautiful old, well-used, S&W 1917 hand-ejector, tossed into...

    Hearing Protection?

I want to buy my niece (and maybe myself) some ear-muff hearing protection now that she's getting into shooting. Do you'all have any favorites/recommendations? Do any of you use muffs plus ear-plugs---or? Where would you buy muffs-----online? or your local store? Your favorite online...

    'Second Hand Lions'

http://tinyurl.com/62rtxdh I missed this movie when it first came out but saw it recently. Gotta love Robert Duvall in anything. Two old bachelors live alone in the country and, ahem, have a strong belief in their second amendment rights, ahem, koff, koff. Great story, great actors. 5 Thumbs up,

Hello from Six Mile! New guy from Pickens county

Hello Everyone, My graduate school bound niece has revived my lifelong interest in guns/shooting/hunting. She has the usual college-kid tendencies toward a Liberal Left view of politics and life---but has gotten the shooting bug and wants to get a concealed carry permit when she starts her new...
