My 2 cents... I like 45 for self-defense, 9mm for the range. But, that's just me. If I'm carrying 9mm, I'm generally carrying a smaller gun with more rounds. I don't want to get shot by either...and I don't feel underpowered by either. I have no intention of going into battle, but hope...

For me, it matters....sort of just gives me a feel that the gun was taken care of...if the owner felt keeping it all in tact was the way to go. I've sold guns where the buyer didn't even want the box...so I kept them and sold them off. So, if you do get rid of them, I'd look into selling...

Hit your local gun show. Range Officers in my area can easily be had for $800...sometimes less. I have both the 9mm and .45 and find them to be very nice guns. I wouldn't worry about the MIM stuff (keeps cost down). By the time you wear them out...gun will need to be refurbished anyway. Few...

Did you try shooting with your other hand? For me (I'm a righty), I've shot with my left hand and, more often than not, magically my gun was shooting point of aim or sometimes shooting to the right... It was generally of my own doing. Anyhow, I've done that to self-diagnose when someone else...
