I had one that I built up. It needed a couple trips back to correct major issues that I could not repair without a mill. It eventually was a good little gun but then I fell in love with carry optics and moved onto something new.
How much money do you want to spend and how thick is the front strap?
If the front strap is thick enough it can be machined to a new radius and then rechecked, flutes, balls or some other treatment. The frame will have to be refinished as well.

This is one of the big benefits of the RMR also. I really enjoy dry fire practice now. The visual feedback from watching the dot move is a huge advantage in practice.
