I know @Bender released his version of this rub that LaRue sent out with orders, and he's still breathing :). I even see you can order it from Amazon (for $29.99! WOW!). Heck I even see some folks say it's simply Lowry's seasoning salt with sugar.

I'm thinking about smoking a pork butt over the weekend, and pouring it all over that.

Anyone else use this stuff and think it's the best?

Thanks for that info Bender. I like dillo dust but not for $30. It is pretty good but more than anything I appreciate the concept, bbq present piggybacking on black rifle goodies. Cue Julie Andrews singing "these are a few of my favorite things" with Pantera backing her up. :)

I'll throw my hat in the ring with this multi-purpose rub. I use it on most everything on the grill too.

1/2 cup paprika (I like smoked hot paprika)
1/2 cup kosher salt
1/2 cup dark brown sugar
2 TBS dry mustard
1/4 cup chili powder
1/4 cup ground cumin
2 TBS coarse ground black pepper
1/4 cup garlic granules/powder
1/4 cup onion powder
1 TBS ground cayenne

I really do 'rub' this onto/into the meat I'm going to put in the smoker and let the meat rest for 12 hours or so covered in the fridge. I re-apply after the meat has assumed ambient room temp before placing in the smoker. Makes for an excellent bark.

Thankfully, the Dillo Dust was better than the rifle. My OBR 556 is one of the worst purchases I've ever made.

Ouch.......have never tried his rifles. Was a scope mount fan, have since started using Bobro mounts

Sorry to hear you guys had some bad experiences with LaRue. Honestly I've only ever bought other people's parts from them I think. Maybe a LMT DMR stock and some chicken parts. Going to try FBG's rub this weekend if I can track down a pork shoulder.
