Damn it. Now you've got me thinking again.
Sorry. It is a beautiful knife. I don't regret it a all. It's also a bit expensive, but I had to buy it. Pushing the "complete purchase" button was a little hard to do, but you only live once.

I tend to spend my "burn money" of which I don't have much of, on knives, guns and watches. It's my joy in life after God, family and a few friends.

That's not expensive. 1911's are.
Agreed. But, I only have 2 very fine 1911's and 2 .22 caliber rifles, one of which means a lot to me because my Dad gave it to me for a birthday 37 years ago...and, of course, an AR that is extremely well built and reliable, since I'm a REAL AMERICAN....like yourself.

I have just 2 nice knives.....both Wilson Combat....and then 6 Buck knives, one of which is 40 years old. That's it....rather modest compared to some. It's all I need.....but definitely not all I want.:D

Very nice! I've contemplated one of these to carry with my EDC X9
Was not sure about quality but after you think it's well built I might just go ahead and grab one soon.
I have a tendency to get carried away with nice knives;-) I've had more than my fair share of nice knives.
PS: custom knives can be even more costly than the nicest 1911s at like $4-5k each and up is not hard to spend.

Congrats CE, nice looking knife. And yes they can certainly get exp;ensive. I lean towards affordable, because I have a tendency to misplace the nicer knives I've owned. Disclaimer, I've never owned a very expensive knife, by comparison, But as HooDoo man said, you guys are killing me and my CC. I'm done (for the time being) buying firearms. But a nice knife may be in my future

Depending on budget I really like Shirogorovs, the T95 and Hati-on are two of my favorites.
I try to keep knife budget under $1k each or less although I bump over that with tax and shipping sometimes.

I tend to misplace things like knives too. I'm going to try hard to keep up with this one. My wife says she'll be surprised if I can account for it in a year. She knows me better than I know myself! The nice thing.....she said if I lose it, she'll buy me another one! I think that came from guilt for the no-confidence vote!

I showed this knife to a fellow knife fan at work and he went to shave a little hair off his arm and cut himself a little with it. He and I agree that it's the sharpest knife either one of us has ever seen, and he owns a number of high end knives. He's now wanting anything made with the Elmax steel. This one shows as out of stock on Wilson's site, but can be backordered.

Agree that elmax is an excellent knife steel I have a couple with it.

I haven't sharpened this one yet. I have medium and fine Arkansas stones that typically do a super job of getting a blade razor sharp, but I have no experience with Elmax steel. Have you sharpened yours? If you have, what did you use?

I still use and old arkansas stone, works well however I admit I'm not the worlds best sharpener of blades. Wish you guys were closer, for a lot of reasons but in this instance so I could get sharpening advice.
Hmm, now elmax blade in new knife and synthetic ruby sharpening stones, getting more expensive. Ha

I can relate. Talking to you guys has cost me a bunch of money. But, because of it, I'm well prepared for anything, and I've enjoyed every last bit of it! I wish you guys were closer too. We could all have an occasional blast at the range (pun intended).
