I was moving some stuff around in my garage & found this box. Inside was the original instructions, sales tag , from Walmart..and the sales receipt for my first hand gun..A High Stamdard "Plinker"....22LR The .54 items on the receipt were are likely for boxes of ammo..the receipt is from 1972, Can you remember a box of .22 selling for $ .54 ?

I still have a High Standard Sentential Deluxe, 9 shot revolver, from 1971. The price on the box is $23.00. It still shoots super. I can remember paying a quarter for a box of .22 long rifle at Sears in the 60s. I also have a Sears Model 20 12 gage pump shotgun with the smoothest action of any firearm I have ever had. It was made by High Standard in the early 60s.

I broke tip of firing tip of firing pin that's attached to the hammer on mine, should be interesting finding that part. My first gun was a Revelation 20 single shot, 2nd a Remington 550 22 semi auto rifle, think I'm sayin model # right, gave oldest son the 20 ga and youngest son the 22 rifle, both these of course came from the Western Auto

My grandfather had an old country general store. As a kid I remember him selling a 50 rnd box of .22lr for $0.25. He said he remembered when it was a dime but prices had gone way up!

♂️Well senior moment, should have known it was a High Standard, i bet it was a great shooter, I still watch Gunbroker from time to time and usually always a few High Standards listed, still tempted to pick up another Sentinel, still great 22 revolvers

I remember when a box of 22lr was 22 cents at our local grocery store. I was floored when they went up to 26 cents. Just robbery. Nice pistol and good history. I had a High Standard Double Nine revolver. I sure wish I still had it.

During the last dry spell, I wanted to shoot 22 really bad. Was a phase. I spent as mush as $75 a brick. Thats how bad I wanted to shoot. I still have some left. More into the holy black lately. Haven't shot centerfire in almost a year.
