This my new Tisas 1911 a1 US Army. I traded for it. I am really surprised I was able to find one. I have seen a couple for sale in California but were to far away. I have a pic. but the gun itself is still in the ten day quarantine. I am anxious to shoot it. All the reviews about this Turkish made 1911 have been so positive.

I bought the 1911 A1 Service Special last year and am very happy with it, I have only had it to the range twice but no problems and accuracy was very good for me. This was my first and only 1911 pistol and far exceeded my expectations, I had seen a number of positive reviews on it which inspired me to get it.

I'd imagine it is a nice "starter" 1911.. shoot it, enjoy it.
You may find as you shoot it more, you'll want better ( easier to see) sights, maybe a smoother, lighter trigger, to shoot it more accurately.
Then a front strap, checkered..so it's easier to grip & control movement from recoil...
Next thing you know, you'll have spent (invested )more $ in improving your pistol than it cost...or would ever be able to sell it for to someone.
This is a common experience in those starting their 1911 addiction.
a suggestion I'd make is.. before modifying the pistol ( beyond a grip change ) if you decide you like shooting a 1911 ( who doesn't ? ! )
either sell your Service Special and buy a 1911 that has features you want.. ( or buy a 2nd 1911 as an addition to your collection)
a suggestion for a 1911 with most desirable features would be a Springfield Loaded Target, ( bargain if you find a nice used one) or a BUL Armory 1911.
Those are just a couple I own that while under $1K, have many features that would be quite expensive to add to your Service Special, and also made of Stainless steel, an additional bonus, IMO.

The only change I plan on is changing the grips. I bought a pair of military contract plastic grips. They are new not issued. This is not a starter 1911 for me it is just the way I want it. I have other 1911's That have all the bells and whistles. Beavertails, sights and such. This Tisas US Army was made in 2022 so there are no Mim parts in it.

Now I did put the Wilson combat 316G spring kit in mine, it's a cheap investment and It did wonders to the safety and is fun to do. Also you could polish some parts.

I just ordered another one of the U.S.1911's Modeled after the WWII Remington. I bought one when they first came out, great pistol. I also have their 1911 Stingray, VERY nice EDC gun. Palmetto had them for $329 the other day, waiting for it to arrive. IMHO you can't go wrong with these pistols.
I should add that I always do a trigger and ramp job on all my 1911's that didn't come from a "custom" shop.

Update on My Tisas US Army 1911-A1. Finally received it on the 33rd day. You just gotta love The California Doj. Ihave now given it a thorough visual inspection. Very nice fit and finish. No rattle firm crisp 6lb. trigger. It has little more take-up than I like. The safety has over travel on disengagement.
I did a complete trigger job on my Kimber UCII. Including replacing the safety with an ambidextrous safety. I have an Ed Brown sear jig and the proper stones. I have ordered an oem safety that is machined and not mimed to replace the factory one. Hope fully getting rid of the over travel. I am going to adjust the trigger bow to reduce the take- up also have the stone to polish the trigger channel. I am going to tweak the sear spring to lighten the trigger pull. I would like to have it end up around 4 to 4.5. lbs. That would be more to my liking. While I have it apart, I will polish all the small parts with some fine Emory cloth. I am waiting on the safety I ordered presently. I will update after I complete the job. I hope it turns out as nice as my Kimber did. I will let you know. I also bought a pair of double diamond walnut grips to replace the ones that came with it. The diamond cut checkering on the factory ones are to smooth it is like the points were smoothed over a little.
