Welcome to the shooting log. You'll find that logging your shooting experience will help a lot in the short and long run.

BTW...The dot drill is 50 rounds. From the target you posted you scored 47/50. Most people lose the drill on the weak hand, you did it on the draw. Its not gonna be hard for you to score 50/50 on this at 5 yds.

And so you did. Still a good score.

Have you tried it with a centerfire yet?

Yes I posted the first time I did it in the dot torture thread. I got 42 with my M&P9 and 46 with my 1911. I'm going to mostly practice with .22lr since it is cheaper. If I can get my hands on a SIRT pistol, that would be great.

I just sold some guns so that I can buy a .22lr glock conversion.

Little bit of a soap box time:

If your looking to get better self defense skills, as in shooting less than 10 yards for the normal shooter...then I could see using the Sirt System. The problem with the Sirt system is that all it does is shoot a laser to the target when you press the trigger. That means you need a target focus to get any benefit from the system (unless you spend the dough to get the targets that record the laser hits). Target focus shooting works great for the average shooter at 7yds or less on wide open shots. After that there are many different types of focus a shooter can learn. If your are training to hit the center mass or A zone on a target at 15 yards with a no shoot involved...target focus is not going to work and the Sirt pistol is not going to tell you anything more than your regular pistol if your doing your fundamentals right.

My advice, from years of training and experience is to spend your money on ammo and start doing some dryfire work.

Isn't the whole point of SIRT to dryfire with some visual feedback?

Regular dry firing doesn't even shoot a laser. So what is the difference to you, besides cost?

Yes it is, and I could see it helping newer shooters confirm that they are hitting where they are aiming.

This is completley my opinion, I just believe its training you to do the wrong thing. If you are looking over your sights to confirm hits while shooting multiple shots or shots at speed, your not executing the correct fundementals of sight tracking.

Good job, I ran 2 miles this morning @ lunch I am going to gear up jog 1/2 mile shoot 88 pistol @ 10 rifle & jog back. Running with gear is definitely tougher I rubbed part of the finish off on a section of my stock it left a flat spot on the plastic keeper.
Good luck

Shot ~50rds of 9mm through my Glock 17 and a lot of .22LR through my new TacSol TSG-22.

The thing was a jammomatic but the failure to feed jams mostly disappeared when I used round nose .22lr instead of hollowpoints.

It didn't extract very well. Hopefully I can find some ammo that works well with it.

I manipulated the slide on my TSG-22 150-200 times and now it ejects all 15 rds from the mag when I operate the slide manually. I will shoot it tomorrow to see if it works in live fire. I am using Winchester M22 ammo.
