Ruger Guntalk G25 10mm 1911

Got number 59 of what was supposed to be 500, but they have so far stopped at 300!! Ruger custom, hand fitted, with Cylinder and Slide internals. Trigger is like a breaking glass rod!!!
This is my first .10mm, and it is a bit snappy!! But it sure is fun!! Commemorating Tom Gresham's 25 years of Guntalk radio.

Didn't even know Ruger had a Custom shop, much less,did custom model builds.
Is that a Govt. (5") or Commander sized ? (4 1/4") ? Hard to tell from the pics.
Still is a nice looking 1911..congrats on adding it to your collection

As I've previously posted, to get real 10mm performance, you have to buy specialty ammo, or hand load,
as most commercial 10mm ammo is now more like 40 S&W +P

Real 10mm does have a bit of snap to it. .it was originally intended to be about equal to a 41 Magnum..

It's a 4 1/4" commander size with nice thin grips. Only ammo I can find has been 180 grain. Most of it made by Black Hills ammunition especially for this guns release. 180 grn JHP

do the provide a velocity on this ammo ?

added did some online searching. found that Black Hills stopped making their 10mm..years ago.
The boxes marked "Seconds" is Law enforcement / overstock they had in inventory.
loaded for L.E. use.

Another posted said the company responded to his question on it's velocity & they reported their 180gr BH 10mm was /is loaded to 1000fps.

" Only 3 boxes per customers who purchased the GT25" ....so if you don't hand load, guess you're outa luck after the 150 rds you could buy ?

not to yank your chain, but unless you already had some 10mm, ( or supplies to load for it,)
why buy a gun you can only buy 150 rds for ? then wait 'till more is available ?

Watched the video, doesn't mention anything about the ammo, but narrator talks a lot about how great it is to shoot,
how great it will be to put a lot of rds thru it, and it's "only 1 of 500 made"...so get them while you can.

Hot = (real 10mm loadings ) do have some snap to them..in a Cmdr. size, it might be more of a challenge to shoot accurately.

I am finding 10mm at all my gun stores, so no, I do not have to shoot Blackhills ammo. They did partner up to make ammo for this gun, which is made available when you order the gun. I don't know where all your negativity is stemming from.

This gun is almost 2 years old and had never hiccuped once so far and is still flawless!!! Awesome accuracy, and a wonderful fcg from Cylinder and Slide. If you see one for sale, snag it up!! Only 350 made

I think the custom shop fairly new, just a few years maybe, goin on memory with all this so forgive me if I'm off on the details. I'm pretty sure one of first out of the custom shop was a competition 1911 with Doug Koening signature on it, 2500.00 range, he used to be sponsored by Smith and Wesson, outstanding Bianchi Cup shooter

There are a couple range type ammo for 10 mm that is pretty damn close to what 10 is supposed to be. In fact they are over what Colonel Cooper originally wanted. If you can find fiocchi 10 mm it is loaded to 1,260 ft per second and mag Tech is loaded to 1230 ft per second. These are both for 180 full metal jacket. The mag Tech is seemingly easy to find. Berelli has it at $21 a box shipped.
