Round count is now in the new Range rules.

I got an E-mail last week informing me that I the RSO, needed to get my Shooters to do a round count & enter it into the sign in book when leaving.
Two days later I got an e-mail explaning why we needed this, in the biggest ammo shortage to hit Americans in my lifetime at least.

We want to do a study on when to mine the backstops for lead. WTF? We have been pounding lead bullets into the pistol berm, 200yard berm, 100yard berm & the 120 yard berm
since 1943. Mine the berms. For what & when is enough enough when there are tons of lead in those berms already.

What could be the real reason? Why are the Damn Yankees who took control of our club up too? Sorry guys but it was a North Carolina Blue Ridge Club & we had mucho fun.
I have never heard of asking a shooter how many rounds he sent down range.

I just told the shooters it was up to them we the members did not vote on any changes to our rules. Does anyone else shoot at a range that requires A round count?

That should be a consumable item unless it's dirt! My range has huge dirt backstops that's are approx 50-100' high depending on range distance (out to 500 meters) they were just redone two years ago because we had a problem with newbies shooting OVER the back stops which were only about 30-40'
Indoor ranges don't track any info at all!

My outdoor range is all giant dirt berms . We've added height , but that's it . no one's ever mentioned round count .

I've not been to any range with that requirement.

Dont forget to tell them that they need to mine the berms first to have a baseline. With all that lead already in them will this not skew their schedule? I mean start fresh, right? Start from zero. When/ how will they know when its time to mine for information, uh, I mean lead?

My range cleans the berms ever so often because of the possibility of ricochet from all the lead in them, but no round count.

I try to shoot in our national forest still ,but amazingly enough the dam leftists are out there too. I've been jacked up due to "dogs being walked", and "people hiking with children". Seriously!! I was raised to not squeeze the trigger till absolutely certain of ones target and beyond. Not good enough for the snowflake crowd, Where this all ends is anyones guess

Does the Forest Service maintain their public ranges? What forest is it where the range is?
We have a few in Pisgah National Forrest & some West of that, but they are dangerous
due to no RSO or manager that can help brand new Shooters.

We still can round a turn in the path out hunting & see that nice group in the trailside sign just about head height.

These days its the Lolo nat'l forest. No real range, we just grew up blasting away at impromptu ranges us locals sort of developed ourselves. Never anyone there, me and a buddy. No RSO. They've been used for decades, not a place for new or inexperienced shooters.
With all the birmed spur roads, and locked gates, its getting more and more difficult to find a place to shoot. Part of the plan I feel, to restrict what Americans can do and where they can do it. Public lands? Multiple use? Slogans from a bygone era.

First, I'd wish them a lot of luck being able to read my signature on the sign in sheet. Second, due to the ammo shortage, I only shoot one round per range trip. Then I use the spent casing as a snap cap and the rest is dry fire.
