How much work did it take to make the fit?? I have a WWI colt with a bad frame,(some dumbass removed the s/n 50 yrs ago), and would love re-build the rest of those very old parts!
Did it take more than basic 1911 skills?

A TON OF WORK, no novice could have done this, I was with a seasoned gunsmith and he scratched his head many times.... I bought mine in a lot of weapons and it went on a multi handgun report and the ATF reached out for the unusual serial.,.... I was able to keep all the parts and had to destroy the frame (so sad). There is a gunsmith in Bradenton Florida...J&M

I have dad's Parker sxs double that resembles that finish from honest wear but just a faded brown now a 2 digit SN# under 30, long story behind that Parker, before I got it and afterwards. Mother brought it home wrapped in a blanket on a bus before ww2, a wedding present for dad. Lost for 3 yrs but I recovered it finally, my words that day were, "I am putting in in my truck now, I will either buy it, steal it or you can return it." They returned it....
