New Leupold Mark 6 1-6x20 mm, Dud or Stud?

What is your oppinion on this new optic?
I personally like Leupold, and am anxious to try this scope out.

Not a big fan of mil adjustments.

I am wanting a ilum. VX6 with a plain old #4 reticle, though.

I am thinking about trying the Bushnell Elite 1-6.5x24. I just haven't convinced myself to part with a grand for this scope yet. I played with it at SHOT Show and really liked it.

When I was at 3 gun nats in oct, I heard a conversation. At that table was several 3 gun pro tour guys that I look up to talking very highly of the for mentioned bushnell. It was held to a very high regard. Put in that category of the twice as expensive swaro

I'd wait for the SFP version of the Bushnell.

From what I've seen, it should be a no-brainer at that price point (~$900)!

Other than saving a bundle of $$$, why do you prefer SFP?

FFP is unnecessary on a gun I won't be shooting past 600 yards. The bdc lines on a ffp reticle aren't visible until your zoomed in quite a bit, so there's not a lot of utility for it on a AR.

On 1x, which is what we are shooting the vast majority of the time, ffp reticles are always very busy.

There are some other reasons as well but these are the big ones.

I have fondled the FFP version and the glass was really impressive.

If we were shooting off a bipod ffp would be more helpful but at 3gun we are typically shooting at big targets quickly and off a shaky wall I find it easier to hold your primary reticle on or just above the target. Just know where your rifle shoots at 100 200 & 300
Just my opinion.

Thanks for the advice on waiting for the sfp scope. I will keep hounding my distributors to inform me when they get one.

SWFA lists the SFP Bushnell 1-6.5x, but the price is the same!?!?
