I'm a retired Marine and current airline pilot. The second pistol I ever shot (the first was a Colt Woodsman my grandpa had) was a clapped out 1911 in the Marines at Quantico. I own an 80s series .45 Colt 1911, an STI Staccato C 9mm, and a DW Specialist in 9mm. Love them all, along with 5 Hi Powers. I guess I like John Browning designed pistols. I look forward to learning from the members here.

If you love 1911's you almost have to love Hi Powers! I own several, they are wonderful pieces of craftsmanship.

Nicely done Springfield. Most of my 1911's are are stock or close to it. I have a two tone Springfield custom shop that still has the spur hammer. Wilson barrel and long trigger, a terrific trigger pull. One of my most accurate handguns period. The rest are an assortment of Colt and Springfield. My prettiest 1911 is an original series 70 that Kent Singletary did for me. Very retro, spur hammer (wide spur) Retro Rear sight staked black ramp front sight Trigger work and stock blue finish. Welcome from Michigan currently under draconian rule of Gretchen.
