we had "open carry" long before concealed carry was allowed 6 years ago. Back then, if someone was bold enough to open-carry in public some of the more "gung-ho" cops would ticket that person for being a public nuisance. Finally, Judge John Browne got tired of throwing those cases out of court, as that was taking up too much of his time away from adjudicating "REAL" criminal charges, so he had the DA tell our Police Chief, at that time, to know it off. Funny, after that nobody was harassed.

Oklahoma has always had open carry, just not in town.
Nobody said anything when you had a long gun or pistol on the hip on hunting trips in the field.
We did have a period in our state history where concealed carry and open carry were illegal in metro areas, but that time has passed. Okla has constitutional carry now.
