was really thinking about a build...can they seriously give you a "custom" serial number?

(wife's initials and d.o.b......I think that'd be worth it)

Any idea of a rough worth on this one? Caspian frame and slide, springfield barrel and colt grips

I think it would be worth in the $500-$600 range as long as it functions 100% and is reasonably accurate.

Caspian frame and slides are good quality. It should be worth at least what a comparable SA MilSpec is worth and more than a comparable Philippine clone.

Have to disagree with that. A Springer mil spec is built by springer a known entity with a warranty. The Caspian build from a mil spec parts kit which it appears to be will not have the same value..

WWB, you may very well be right on the value of the Caspian vs SA. I am basing values on the few Caspians that I have been able to handle and have been very impressed with them. I would be a very interested buyer in a well put together Caspian for $400.

Wrong. It's only worth what some one is willing to pay for it. It could be $350 it could be $650 if a friend just has to have it and has shot it and knows the work and parts that are into it. A pistol that is assembled by an unknown entity is even worth the cost of the parts to some.

I have a CCO built on a Caspian Titanium frame, a 5" built on a Titanium Recon frame, an ultra light .38 Super built on a Alloy Officer frame with a lightend Nowlin slide, a 5" with a steel frame, a 6" 10mm long slide with a steel frame and I am in the process of building a .22TCM/9mm single stack on a Caspian Alloy Gov't Frame. They make good stuff. I have only sold one Caspian build in the last 20 years and I got my money back out of it. It was all Caspian parts with an Ed Brown Barrel in .357 Sig when that caliber was new.

Really need to inspect. The builder may have been Bubba. I wouldn't buy a parts gun from an unknown assembler.
