No special "empahsis" on any division this month, PLUS it is supposed to be raining so what better way to spend a rainy evening

So I'm assuming open would just fall under high cap? I would like to shoot open rimfire if possible. I'm also not sure what "tactical action" is. Does that mean your gun has a tac rail? Or is it a maneuver performed in Steven Seagal movie?

Will there be a rimfire division?
There hasn't been in the past but I will let David (Match Director) answer that question

An open pistol would likely fall under "other" depending on what kind of holster you have. "Tactical action" means that there is at least one ninja barrel roll per stage.

Man I would love to run my Nordic upper in this.
Pistols only at this one but we do have a Rimfire Rifle match. I think we are planning the next one in Jan (5th Sunday?)

We have allowed rimfires in the past, we just haven't had a specific division for them. I am considering adding one, if interest dictates.

Any gun described as "Open" will likely fall under the "Other" division. It depends on the gun and perhaps holster.

The main problem for rimfires is getting a proper holster. I can make the same type of holster I made for Dave Sevigny who used it to become the World Champion, but you need to plan ahead!

Ok, I've been giving this some thought...

There is some interest in shooting .22 rimfire rifles in a competitive venue. How much interest is still open to speculation. The only regular rimfire match I'm aware of is the one held at OKCGC, but I don't think they're getting too much participation. This could be due to the format, as it's strictly a stand and shoot.

There may be something in Tulsa, but most folks shoot rimfire to save money and spending another $30-$40 in gas and tolls, not to mention a nearly 4 hr drive time doesn't make much sense.

I am not aware of an OKC area tactical action match for .22 rifles. One justification I used to get the Nordic .22 upper and buying the associated parts, was the belief I could use it locally in a competitive environment. So I began having them at Heartland 3 times in 2011. Attendance has been minimal at best. This was due to scheduling conflicts and other reasons, as best I can determine. But IS there enough interest or not?

Here's what I'm going to do: in conjunction with the normally scheduled Carrygun match, we will hold a simultaneous .22 rimfire rifle match, scored separately. The stages will be identical, but scoring hits MAY be altered slightly. (IE; head shots instead of body)

ALSO.....

If the attendance numbers allow, you can sign up to shoot a SECOND time for $10 !!!! If we have less than 40 shooters, we will allow a "Second Shoot" until 40 slots are reached. For example, you can shoot the same gun twice in the same division, or shoot your carrygun, then shoot your .22 rifle for another $10!!

This is an awesome idea David. This way we don't have to worry about having enough people show up for a stand alone .22 rifle match. Easy to run (same setup) and easy to score.

EUGENE YOU'RE A GENIUS!
