A gun smith friend of mine called them, apparently, they are reworked pistols of an older version, that were returned for whatever reasons. His advice was to pass. i had been thinking of getting a couple of them to build on. I passed.

Taylor & Co buy's from Uberti a lot. (Supposably take it apart at their shop for refinement) I have one of their 1894 30-30's & it's flawless. They use the original John Browning design. I got it on a trade & is my second Taylor I owned. First was an 1866 45LC, which to was also flawless, but I traded that for a NIB 1894 Winchester 375Mag (which was not flawless mechanically). After a trip to a master gun smith, it was as good as any my Pre 64 Wins. Don't know too much about their pistols.

As a 1911 fan, I ordered one of their old school 1911's to compare to my GI 1911a1. I put around 100 rounds thru it. It shot great. Certainly not a long term test, but for the money, I think they are a good buy. Armscor (RIA) has been around awhile and make decent pistols. My 2 cents.

Maybe I should clarify, I wasn't knocking the pistols. Just passing the info they gave over the phone. They are factory rebuilds, (from warranty Cases's) of the previous discontinued model. Not their "new style" pistol. Just put it up there as a little FYI I have a couple of Armscor .45's that are fine. Sorry for any confusion.

Ordered a .40S&W barrel for it on the 14th, got it today (two days!)

If your gun has a more robust extractor than the 1911, like, maybe, a Glock,
you can shoot .40 in a 10mm chamber because the extractor holds the
shorter cartridge case.

I've gotten perfect performance with .40S&W ammo in every 10MM chambered
gun I've tried. Not much power difference unless you reload.

I got the different caliber barrel because I don't want to take chances with
the 1911 extractor.

ebay also has the .45 ACP ramped bull barrels and I was considering this

Be sure to feed it the stuff intended for it. Lots of factory 10mm is really watered down.
