Also should not forget the smaller guys. Here three XSE LW Commanders. The one on the top is a 2006 in 45 ACP. In the middle is a 2009 in 38 Super and on the bottom is a 2015 in 9mm. Of course 2015 is the year Colt dropped most of its XSE line of pistols.

And a couple little Defenders. A 2002 in 45ACP on top and a 2010 in 9mm on the bottom. I did replace the rubber wrap around grips with wood stocks on both.

In fact, thinking of sizes, here are examples of the four sizes Colt has made over the years with a 2013 MkIV Series 70 Gov in SS on top with a 1991 SS Commander under that. Under that a 2000 Compact (like Officers). On the bottom is the 2002 Defender which was in the previous picture.

And here is a look at just the slides.

What in your opinion was the reason Colt dropped the XSE line?

This is my newly completed .22LR Bullseye set up. The lower is a Colt Combat Elite XSE frame with a Marvel Precision Unit 1 upper (steel slide lock-back) with a Vortex Venom reflex red dot sight. The stocks are RoCo "The Master" grips. I own several .22 Conversion Unit's and this frame will be used with all of them.

Well it is half Colt anyway. Colt 38super Commander slide with a Caspian frame. Currently off getting a little tweaking done to it.
